Passions (and the Dumbo Feather launch soiree)

February 2, 2012

Last night I had the honour of being in a room full of passionate people. Some were old friends, who I was delighted to see (in that heart-floaty way) and others, friends-to-be (who I was excited to explore – in a non-creepy way).

There’s a certain type of energy in a room like that. Even amongst the strangers there’s a camaraderie. People are keen to learn about one another’s passions and resulting projects, and to give encouragement, share connections, and even sometimes lend a hand.

The event was the launch of Dumbo Feather‘s latest issue. If you’re not familiar with Dumbo Feather – it’s a fantastic Australia(/New Zealand) mag profiling inspirational folk. The team shared some great initiatives they’ve actioned – including great digital content and beautiful documentaries.

The soiree was held at the incredible ‘white house’ of small giants.

I’m going to try and get in a room with these folk again soon.
