For those who know the film, In the Mood for Love, Goldfinch restaurant features in this scene.

The film is set in 1960. It’s fair to say the restaurant has seen better days, and those pictured in the film are probably some of them. Nonetheless, it’s cheap, the service is good, and it’s the best cashew nut chicken I’ve had since I walked through a round doorway in the outer suburbs many years ago.

Don’t go out of your way, but if you’re broke in Causeway Bay, you might as well check it out.

We shared Cashew Nut Chicken and another dish I inhaled before identifying, and it cost us $80 each ($10 Australian).

Welcome to Goldfinch

Nothing's changed. No really.
